Wedding Planning Floral Consultation and Photo Gallery

 Consultation Appointment

A floral consultation is an important step in the overall planning of your wedding. It is important to meet with a floral designer at least six months prior to your wedding. Before this meeting you should have your date confirmed, a color scheme selected, and preferably all dress styles and colors chosen. This will help the designer guide you in the flower selection and color schemes that will complement your theme. If you have a budget set for your flowers feel free to discuss this with your designer so that she can advise you on creative ways to stretch the budget or advise you on realistic goals. We understand that this can be an exciting time but one that also is filled with anxiety as you have many decisions to make. We want to help you select the perfect flowers and decorations for your wedding with full confidence. There will be many things to worry about but your flowers shouldn't be one of them.

We offer "full service" deliveries in which we will assist in pinning on boutonnieres and corsages. Your attendants will be instructed on how to handle their bouquets to show them off to best advantage. We will set up and move any floral displays between locations to free your wedding party from distracting responsibilities.

Bouquets

Choosing your bridal bouquet is one of the most enjoyable significant decisions to make for your wedding. The choice of flowers and style of bouquet should be a reflection of your personal style and beauty. There are many styles of bouquets to choose from, but they must suit the style of your dress and be in the correct proportion for you. It is very helpful if you select styles of bouquets that you prefer before coming to your first consultation. An easy way to do this is to look through floral magazines for ideas and begin a collection of them to bring to your appointment. If you can't find any pictures that you like, do not worry we have many images to share with you.

 Corsages & Boutonnieres

Corsages and boutonnieres are a thoughtful way to thank the special members of your wedding party. The groom, groomsmen and ushers traditionally wear boutonniers along with the fathers and grandfathers. Mothers and other special female bridal party members wear corsages. Special friends, family members or people performing a special service such as reading or signing during the ceremony should be honored with a corsage or boutonniere.

 Ceremony

Wherever your wedding is taking place it is important that the location be decorated appropriately to complement your theme. It is important to enhance the space with appropriate designs that will add beauty and elegance to your ceremony location. We have many items that can beautifully enhance the appearance of your church, hall or club. Such decorations include arches, trellises, candleabra, pedestals, vines and organza or tulle drape, lights and plants.

 Reception

In celebration of your wedding the reception should be fun, festive and shared with all your family, freinds and colleagues. Flowers can be arranged creatively to reflect a theme that will make the rest of your day as memborable as the stating of your vows. Whatever your style or theme may be we will suggest creative ways to bring this to life.

When should my flowers be delivered?

  • We deliver the flowers to you when and where you need them. You will need to consider some logistics when planning the deliver of your flowers. Would you like us to deliver the bouquets, corsages and boutonnieres  to the church along with the ceremonial decorations. If so, we advise that this be done on ehour prior to the ceremony. If you need the bouquets, corsages and boutonnieres delivered to your home for photographs we can accomodate that request with no problem.  Reception flowers can also be delivered to that location and set up to keep your day stress free.

What happens if the flowers I selected are not available?

  • During the ordering process our consultant will advise you on flower choices that will be available at the time of your wedding. Unfortunately sometimes a substitution may be necessary if weather or growing conditions have not been optimal. If a substitution is necessary we will notify the bride. There are many varieties of flowers available and we will advise you on the best substitution available.

How should I keep my flowers fresh for my wedding?

  • We will advise you on the best way to care for your flowers. For example a hand-tied bouquet should be placed in a vase to allow a water source when you aren't carrying it. When you receive your flowers, it is best to handle them as little as possible. They should be stored in a cool location but do not expose them to extreme temperatures. At 32 degrees or less, flowers will freeze and become discolored when they return to warmer temperatures. Do not wear coats over corsages or boutonnieres as this will crush them. If you must refrigerate your wedding flowers do not place them in a cooler with fruits or vegetables as they cast off ethylene gas which will kill the flowers very quickly. It is best to transport your flowers in the container in which they were delivered.
